USA Today reported that U.S. coronavirus cases surpassed 7.5 million on October 7 with 39 states seeing a rise in cases – nine months into the pandemic – and a startling nine states setting state seven-day records for infections. That and more in the Wayne County Report for October 8, 2020.
The country has been adding about 44,000 cases per day lately, more than double the low seen in June and halfway between that mark and the worst of the July's devastating peak. Deaths are higher in 25 of the states and testing positivity is higher in 35 states than it was a week before.
According to countywide health data for October 7, 2020, Taylor reported two more cases (for a total of 1,068 overall), but not new deaths (80).
