Victims of this week's flooding in the City of Taylor should file a damage assessment form with the Customer Service Center in City Hall (23555 Goddard Road).
This week's flooding in the region has resulted in a state of emergency declared by both Wayne County and the State of Michigan. The area has been hit with more than five inches of rain in the past week, over three inches on April 30.
The City is collecting damage forms related to the flooding. The purpose of the reporting form is to collect information for the State of Michigan, and is not a mechanism for any other type of reimbursement or financial assistance that residents may qualify (insurance, for example).
Please turn the forms into the City as soon as possible.

IN OTHER FLOOD-RELATED NEWS:
Relating to debris resulting from the flood, residents have two options:
- Leave debris at curbside. It will be picked up by GFL trucks during regular weekly runs -- which means it will remain at curbside until your next regular pickup
- Or, residents may drop it off at the City's Compost and Transfer Station on Racho Road, south of Eureka. All flood-related drop offs are free (you must show proof of residency).
The transfer station will be open for extended hours this weekend from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (May 4) and Sunday (May 5).
In neighborhoods that experience heavy street flooding, Department of Public Works street sweepers will be running constantly beginning today (May 3).
Any residents with questions should call (734-287-6550) or visit the Customer Service Center at City Hall during regular business hours (Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
The City of Taylor will post more updates on the flooding issues as we receive them. Click on www.cityoftaylor.com.
