For the 19th straight year, everyone is invited to enjoy a free Christmas dinner on Christmas Day at the City of Taylor’s William Ford Senior Activity Center.
The 2017 “True Meaning of Christmas” dinner is set for noon to 3 p.m. Monday, December 25. The meal is open to everybody, especially those alone, less fortunate or hungry – and their guests.
Members of the Domski family pool their resources to provide the dinner. Last year, nearly 400 people ate dinner and made memories – perhaps the largest turnout yet. This year, volunteers again will be ready to serve hundreds of meals and there is always food left over.
This year, the delicious meal will include turkey and all the trimmings, ham, white and sweet potatoes, gravy, corn, salad, beverages and desserts.
Those who cannot arrange transportation to the center can call for a free ride in advance or on the day of the event. The telephone number is (313) 291-7740.
