Eagles captured three straight league and regional titles, with the 1988 team – led by future major league star Steve Avery – setting numerous records and finishing as the Class A runners-up.
Was named the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association coach of the year that season.
Developed into a quality basketball and football official at the high school level, eventually officiating MHSAA state championship contests.
A graduate of Carleton Airport High School and an outstanding football, baseball and basketball player as a prep.
