  • Lived in Taylor from 1970-2017 and best remembered fondly as a long-time principal in the Taylor School District.
  • As a college athlete he earned a spot in the Spring Arbor College Hall of Fame (inducted 2008). 
  • A superb athlete growing up in Monroe – he and his brother played baseball whenever and wherever they could. He also took up golf. 
  • At Spring Harbor, he played baseball and basketball from 1949-51. 
  • Averaged 22 points per game during his career. 
  • Eventually drafted by the old St. Louis Browns Major League Baseball Club, but he turned the offer down and got into education. 
  • Started participating in the Michigan Publinx Golf Association tour in 1970 and continued through 2008. 
  • During nearly four decades of play, he was accorded many top honors.
  • Also competed in both the Michigan and USA Senior Olympic programs.
  • Won many City of Taylor golf tournaments.
  • Recorded six holes-in-one and five times shot his age. 
  • Was a member of the original Taylor Sports Hall of Fame committee.
